Griffen O’Shaughnessy founded Canopy Advisory Group in 2009 as an innovative way for organizations to gain access to top-tier experts to solve their acute problems more quickly, on a project basis, and at a lower cost than bringing on full-time employees.
The idea for Canopy came from Griffen’s own experience in the corporate world.
She worked for large, successful firms, put in the long hours, and worked her way up the ladder like many other professionals. And that worked perfectly well until Griffen had her first child. Suddenly, she had a new, critical priority taking up her time, and juggling motherhood with the high-powered, always-on corporate job wasn’t working. Something had to give.
In talking to many other executives and professionals, Griffen realized that parenthood was far from the only catalyst for these types of moments. Our lives change, our situations change, our priorities change, and for many talented professionals, the 9-to-5 corporate grind is no longer what we need or want. On the other side of the coin, hiring full-time employees, especially at the executive level, is often not the best way for businesses to be successful. And that goes for organizations of all sizes and types.
The vision for Canopy is to bring them together. Canopy’s clients gain access to the very best independent experts, while also providing those experts with the flexibility to do what they love to do both at work and home.
Since 2009, Canopy has flourished, with our expert advisors proving themselves invaluable time and again to organizations in the Denver metropolitan area and nationwide.
